You have worked very hard to build up your successful business , the only thing missing from your life is someone to share it with. You finally meet someone special and choose to get married, but before you take that step, you start to wonder, does she really love me. Is she only after my money, these questions and more should race through your mind.

In this day and age, owning a business is not all that unusual. But the work behind it is just as hard now as it was in the past. And there are also more single men out there who have worked hard and long to build up assets. There is also an increased amount of woman out there who are looking for the quick buck and that, coupled with the higher divorce rate and ease of divorce, can make for a costly marriage.

The best thing that a man, who has built themselves a successful business and assets prior to meeting the right woman can do is have their future spouse sign a prenuptial agreement. These agreements protect the owner of the business and assets against gold diggers, and any woman who is confident that their marriage will survive should have no problem signing one. On the other hand, if the woman you are about to marry happens to be after you for your money as you so much feared, then she will likely refuse to sign and this will let you know that this "right" woman is not so right after all.

Now, imagine, working so many years making a name for yourself and putting aside money for your retirement and then meeting the woman of your dreams. You are swept off your feet and rush off and get married . Your marriage is so perfect and you couldn't ask for anything more. Then several years down the road, she hits you with the request of a divorce. It seems to come out of absolutely nowhere and you are completely heartbroken.

You go to court and end up having to fight for the one thing that you have worked so hard for. You end up losing half of your assets and your business to the woman whom you thought loved you. And she is laughing all the way to the bank. This was in her plan all along. Sacrificing a few years of her life meant nothing to get all that money.

The gold diggers personality is like a nasty virus. It sucks the life out of you, and will rob you of everything, and at the same time let you know it’s your fault that things are not working out. To steer clear of these gold diggers use the following information to protect yourself from even starting a relationship with them.

(1) Look at what she’s asking you.

“How much do you earn?” Answer this, and it goes right into her mental calculator. He makes X, and I make 0. So I earn 65% of X, minus acting like I care about him, his kids, and anything else he wants to discuss with me.

“Tell me about your job” At this point she’s deciding if your future prospects are going to be able to get her the things she cares about, which are luxury cars on her birthdays, annual vacations to exotic locals, and shopping at Saks on Fifth Avenue . Things she doesn’t care about, your kids’ college funds, and anything else you want to discuss with her.

“Do you have kids?” This will help her determine how you’re going to divvy your time and money up. She will be needy, and take as much of this as she can. Your kids will see right through her, maybe because they’re not looking at her half exposed, fake breasts when she speaks. Listen to them.

(2) Look at how she’ll act.

Being taken care of is her priority. Sure, all women want a man that can provide for their family. However, gold diggers want one that will take care of them. Big difference, her expectations are as followed, you pay all the expenses, give her a monthly income and extra whenever she wants it.

She’s begs for money. It will start small to test the waters, like getting her perfume or flowers, and will escalate from there. “Honey, my car is old, can you buy me a Porsche”. It’s all in her calculations. you will not realize her game at first, they are very skilled at asking for cash. Look out for flirting or teases at the time.

She doesn’t care about your relationship. A gold digger only cares about money, that’s it. She may seem genuinely interested and devoted to you, but those are all tricks she will use to keep her good life going. Nothing personal it’s just business.

(3) Warning signs.

There are a number of warning signs to look out for when a gold digger decides to move on. A sudden interest in personally paying household bills and fines, make sure these are all paid for on time and that the cash has not just simply vanished into a hidden bank account, hers.

A new interest in a hobby or support group which takes her out of the house and contact for extended lengths of time, these missing hours may well be spent in the company of lawyers, financial advisers or her new mark.

A desire to funnel more of your hard earned cash into loan repayments, house, car, or other assets. As well as increasing your contribution to your superannuation scheme, these actions all leave paper trails, which her lawyers will love.

A new credit card in her name, but she still uses the one in your joint names.

A sudden interest in the records of every savings, checking, retirement and investment accounts that you and your business hold.

(4) How to protect yourself.

Do a background check. Has she ever work, how’s her credit. If it looks like this woman has major money problems, avoid her.

Ask her about her financial status. If she refuses to answer, your red flags should be waving all over the place.

Let her pick up the tab every once in a while. This is the real test that will give you the proof you need. Gold diggers never pick up the tab. Unless you gave her one of your credit cards.

Listen to intuition. If you just know something isn’t right about this catch, throw her back.

This doesn't have to happen to you. There are several ways in which you can protect your assets from gold diggers, and its never to early to start. Consulting a lawyer and setting up a structure with the aim of protecting your assets long before these woman come into your life is first line of defense, the other is a prenuptial agreement.

These women will only learn the hard facts of life when they wake up one day in a cold and lonely bedroom. When their looks have faded away, and they can no longer get what they want through them, what is left. Nothing.
